October Journey

Updated: Jan 29

The October sky is dark this morning making the contrast of the gold grasslands appear to come to life. Gorgeous! The leaves have begun to turn shades of yellow.

We are headed towards the saddleback on the county road and then we be ascending into Hell Creek.

The sky and the surroundings are stunning this morning. A road we have been down thousands of times in 20 years. Honestly, we are always on our journey in amazement of the beauty around us. Just as if it was the first time we had passed through.

I see a grouping of American pronghorn in the distance, although I have an eagle eye.

Ahead is a male American pronghorn. The pronghorn most likely will turn and run into the field.

Where is Waldo? Where is our handsome friend in the picture?

It’s impossible to get a good picture of him this morning as he keeps running into the distance on the range.

Are we there yet? You ask… almost!

We parked and have been hiking for a bit. I stop to take a picture of the view behind us.

We discover a few pieces of dinosaur bones.

Unfortunately, we don’t find anything amazing today.

On our next adventure, I’m positive there will be some amazing finds. So don’t worry I’ll get the gate. New adventures await next time!

You’ll never guess who’s running down our county road!

The Saddleback looks a lot different on the drive back. All the clouds have disappeared and it’s a big blue sky with tall pine trees lining the curve.

We’re at the end of the county road and getting ready to turn on the blacktop and there’s our dear friend Buddy.

It’s been a beautiful October journey with many stunning views.
