T-Rex Valley🦖 in July….

Updated: Jan 27

We discover a breath taking scene with 2 bald eagles drinking at the far end of this beautiful and rare pond in the middle of the Badlands.

Off for an adventure…with two special visitors in the backseat.

It’s haying season in Montana.

The landscape has hundreds of freshly bailed hay.

Wow…this picture is rare! I captured a mother deer and her twin fawns….precious!

We are closer to our destination as a herd of American pronghorns cross in front of us on the county road.

Our adventure starts with discovering this amazing scene in the middle of the Badlands.

Breathtaking!

I “Swear” -nigan this kid is taller than when he came to visit Montana on his first dinosaur adventure when he was only 11 years old. Addison is all grown up and in his mid 20s and even married.

Here is Addison’s wife Mykala…taking a moment to rest from our hike to this picturesque spot.

Onward, we hike to a spot I have wanted to check out for years.

The youngsters are taking another much needed break on the way to our first destination.

I dreamed it would be the promise land. We hiked all around, and I eventually did find a scattering of dinosaur bones. Addison and Mykala had already found dinosaur fossils too, so that was amazing. Not every butte has dinosaur fragments laying everywhere.

While Addison and Mykala are enjoying their discoveries and continue to explore. Erik climbs ahead to the top of this odd formation to look over the top to see if we will continue hiking it or we will head in another direction.

It’s heating up to a warm morning. I wait halfway up the Butte in a cool lush green grouping of pine trees . The view is beautiful .

Onward, we will hike in a different direction. These two look like they’re having a good time.

We discover an area with hundreds of pieces of dinosaur bone fragments scattered everywhere. The team starts digging at the top of the formation where it appears the dinosaur bones are eroding out of.

Eventually, we get back hiking.

Our company rests in the shade of the pine trees at the bottom of the next buttes we are going to hike. But first, we take a break and have lunch.

Addison and Mykala decide to explore the bottom of the buttes so Erik and I hike up to the top of these very steep buttes.

The views are amazing from the top. I take a moment to photograph the scenery.

Awww… it’s hard to believe this day of exploring has come to an end! I’ll get the gate one more day of discoveries await!

We are crossing a bridge driving into Broadus, Montana. The water is pretty low although it is the end of July and headed towards triple digits.

Here is the local taxidermy shop. Addison has his own business that he is starting featuring fish taxidermy on YouTube. We wish him the best of luck chasing his dream and turning it into a thriving business.

We are headed out of Broadus and on our way to Miles City. It’s been a great day for adventure with two very special family friends visiting.

We hope Addison and Mykala had a blast on their Southeastern Montana dinosaur adventure.🦖
